A tree can be more than shade and fruit. For us, it can be a living reminder that love is real, that prayer is possible, and that healing can start the moment we stop rushing and start paying attention.

Joe Grumbine sits down again with Socrates for a joyful, faith-forward conversation about the Holy Spirit, creation, and why gardens feel like sacred ground. We talk about learning “love” through the trees, the Bible’s repeated return to gardens and water, and the way time outdoors can soften anxiety and fear. Joe also shares how his own garden and nonprofit retreats are turning into a place where people from different backgrounds come to breathe, work in the soil, and leave calmer than they arrived.

We get surprisingly practical too: olive trees, curing olives, and why olive oil carries both health value and spiritual meaning in Christian tradition. And his name is Socrates, and we just had an amazing conversation last week. And towards the end of it, we got cut off a little bit. His computer crashed out. Exactly. You know, it's so beautiful that we share in a whole different life, in a whole different way of expressing, but a similar journey. And you know, you found a connection to the Holy Spirit to help people to heal, just like that. And I found a connection through nature to help people heal in a little different way, but it's the same Holy Spirit.

Exactly. Exactly the way you say, Joe, because my first account with the Lord, he's taken me to the woods and show me the trees. And he said, What do you see? I say, I see a

tree. And he said, Love. I say, How can be love? There is a tree. See, I meant to love you. And he's changed my life. He changed, and that's the reason every time I go to the woods, the animals come out. I go to the ocean, the birds come in at the top, and the fish come at the bottom. I blow my mind out. You know, the nature, if we love them, they love us back. Yes, you know, and you talk to the trees, I talk to the trees, my trees, I have a beautiful yard. I put a lot of trees with the fruits.

I'm honored to know you as well. And you know, it's interesting. A lot of times people just don't understand, but you know, in in the old testament, in the the first chapter, you know, or the first the first book of Genesis, right away they go right after God gets done creating. What did he do? He went right to this garden, this beautiful garden. And throughout the Bible, throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament, men of God would go to a garden to pray. There's many examples of the garden and where the water was, and so many things. The water, especially, was such a beautiful tool. You know, we are all water. And you know, what did what did Jesus use as a tool to renew everybody's life? Put donkey in the water and and get the board.

Yeah, and I I want to say something with you, what's happened to my wife? My wife's an American Indian, her name is Drew, and she's from Columbus, Ohio, her family, and her is born in Clearwater, but they used to hug the trees and talk to the trees.

You know, and they very they love the nature very much, they love the creation. Now, I have a tree. My wife they say that that's a really crazy tree, you know, and have a lot of nails outside. Um they used to cut them down. I say, no, let the tree grow up. And we let the tree grow up. And that tree looks so beautiful, creates so much shadow. Uh they have nails all over. This is why the animals don't go up and take the tree the fruits.

And the tree, I talk to them and they grow. And I talk to my tree surside because God put in my heart to do that after he teaches me the trees, he gives it to us because he loves us. And we're our and it's very correct because we need the accident from the trees.

Our lengths look the accidents, and the our brain designed like the tree. If you look, the brain is designed like the tree.

Absolutely.

You know, and it's a is a very, very part of our life, and he's given to men to take care of the men don't take care of it. And Adam is done their own things, you know, he's now obeyed, kick him out. But he's having angels protect the yard, protect the garden. And the same thing we have to protect our garden, we have to talk to our uh fruits, our vegetables, because we need to survive. Yes, all the stuff God gave it because he's lovers. And I'm very happy you use in through your the Holy Spirit in you to people to be healed this time you come in your garden. Yes, is a healing power is in you and talking to the trees, and the trees have a healing power to heal us in Jesus' name. Exactly.

And and you know what kind of happens like a disease or an infection or virus, these things that cause us harm,

Prayer In Nature And Fear Relief

they get into our body and then they start to spread. And then if if you let them spread enough, then we will go to another person and it'll jump over from us to them and start to spread these these diseases. But you know, when you go to the garden and you heal yourself, or you uh you know find the spirit, yeah.

You pray. You pray Jesus one second, I give you that because you're so un anointed from that. Jesus go to the garden to pray. Yes, in Gethsemane, in Gethsemane, and that's just go there.

And he's conquered there the fear, yeah, and uh and his conquered anxiety there, right?

You know and imagine that knowing what he had to face, the most horrible experience. Even ask God, could you take it from me? And uh he had to go through this.

Take this cup away from me and say, No, my will by your will. And you're fear, and you and his sweat blood, sweat blood, the blood growth of the ground, and he's conquered fear in in the woods, fear and anxiety.

This way, people come to your yard, I believe very deeply, planned to be free from anxiety and fear.

Yes, exactly. And then what happens is what I've noticed is it's like the opposite of disease, where the goodness will spread too. And instead of causing problems, it starts to help you, and then you become a better person, you become more calm, you become more joyful, you become more godlike, and then you go around other people and you spread that, and the next thing you know, they get better too. So it's like kind of the opposite of disease.

Planting Trees And Healing Communities

woods, clean them up the grass, take uh the things around is a way the tree not gets on fire. Because a lot of trees get on fire if they have a lot of dirt in the bottom. Once we clean them up, they have only the ground, the fire, not spread. Okay, you know, and we save a lot of woods, plus we me and my brother and and my team will uh we'll put the over 1200 trees in the ground, and now I go to trees and I see them. They are so beautiful.

You know, little boys, you know. When I was a kid, I I had a neighbor that had a big oak tree, and it would drop the acorns on the ground, and she would leave them alone, and then they would grow these little baby trees. And I was maybe in my 20s, and I would go over to her house with a little shovel and I dig up these little trees, put them in little pots, little bags, and I would go out to the mountains, and I would do the same thing. I bring my little shovel and I would dig these little holes that go in and I'd stick trees in the ground.

And I've gone back, it's been probably 40 years, but there's a few trees that I know that are there that I planted, and I think oh my god, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Joe, what you're doing because what you've done give oxes and a life a lot of people. So that's the animals, too. The birds go into the trees, and they and they they have a life, they have a energy again from the creep from the ground. Oh, yeah.

It's shelter, it's food, it's it's uh, you know, it's it's a home, it's a it's a it's a safe place. So yeah, it's it's amazing, and what a what a great and beautiful place we were given. What a beautiful gift of this earth and and all of its its beauty and its its wonders, you know.

And again, God give it to us, Joe, because he loves us. Yes, to us because he's lovers, he's created you and me, and he's put the garden hiself. Hiself put the trees in the ground in the Genesis 2. In the Genesis 1, create them in the supernatural, and Genesis 2 put them in the natural. I'm an honor to know you, brother, because very few people they have so much love from the creation, and God the love of God is in you because of the Holy Spirit in you to love people and to love the trees. And you know something? Everybody coming, you got you got them plan to be healed because of me. Yes, because of the children.

And that's that's what's happening now. You know, we started a nonprofit, and now we're, you know, bringing people in for retreats and for I teach them classes and different things. So more and more people are now finding out, and it's it's working. We're building a beautiful little community. It's funny because people come and you know, all different people from around the world, different people, different religions, different philosophies. And you know, I sometimes I hear people talking, like, you know, well, you know, you need to go to this church or you need to do this or that. And I says, you know, this is my church right here.

That's it. You got it. That yeah, that's it. Jesus done too. And the his teacher, the first evangelist, his minister to her on the well, you know, and the Lord always goes to the nature. Yes, very few times in the night go to sleep inside, sometimes in the building, the upper room. But all day they are on the streets, they are the oceans, are the lakes, in you know, in the rivers, in uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

So beautiful. Wow, wow, wow. And you know you're the first person I meet in America have so much love from the creator. I mean a lot of people like you, they you do the talking and the walking. Some people talk, but they're very few do the walk. You walk.

Yeah, I agree. And you know what we try to do? Like sometimes people come out here and they you can tell, like they get touched, just like when you when you pray over somebody and they find a healing, you know, that changes them. And sometimes people come out here and you can tell, like they're they're going through a change. And I say, Well, if you want to, you can come out here and help and get your hands in the ground and you can help me. And they do, they come here and they volunteer and they they help me plant plants and water and clean and and and do all the different things. And wow, it it it's slowly building a family that is learning how to take care of this planet. Like a lot of human beings have caused a lot of harm to the planet. Now that planet will survive. The planet's bigger than all of us, and you know, the humans will die off long before the planet will. But the planet suffers a lot because of the thoughtlessness of man and the the damage that we've done, and you know, killing too many animals and too many trees and polluting the rivers and all the things. So when people learn and they come out here and they breathe the free clean air, and they even just putting your hands in the soil, like you, you feel it, you feel that energy, and it spreads, and they learn. I go, you know, take that home and you plant a garden at your house, too.

You know, everything you say is so beautiful and catered to me because bringing me back what the God talked, the Lord talked to me about it. I make these trees because I love you. And in Florida, they say I cannot put the olive trees. I have a tree from Kalamata. The Kalamata Aleps is very old, a tree from the south of uh Peloponnesius, Kalamata. And I put a tree in my yard, yeah, and everybody says, Oh, it it's too hard. Florida, you cannot have an olive tree. And now I have olives. I have olives, I talk to the tree and produce olives. If somewhere I go, me and you go FaceTime. I take you one day. Yes, yes.

Yeah, over here in California, it's good for olive trees, they love it, but Florida is a little wet, it's a little too much, too much humidity, and it's not the same climate that they're

used to. Over here, it's almost like Greece. Yeah, it's like Italy and Greece where they grow real easy.

And produce very good olive oil. In California, I have a good olive oil.

Yeah, I'm gonna learn. I mean, I'm I'm I'm just now getting, you know, my health has come back now, and I'm I'm I've got my my my strength is coming back, and so uh every year that makes the olives and they fall on the ground, and I don't know what to do with them. But this year I'm gonna I'm gonna begin to make the olives. I'm gonna make the Greek olives first because they're easy.

Just put salt. Put them in the in the salt and uh in the water, yeah. Put them in the vinegar with the water too.

After they're ready, put them inside oil. Inside oil, cover them the uh with oil, and they can stay there for thousands of years. Yes. The oxygen not going to do to to the uh pollute them, to destroy them, to you know, mold. Uh once you cover, put the alpha inside in the bucket. Uh bring me here. I bring you in here one second.

That's California, yeah. Make them your beautiful state, and in here, the olives, I have them here, this olives on my tree, and I have them inside inside oil, you see. Inside oil, you know, after they I have them ready, the salt and the vinegar. Now I'm gonna put them in the oil and stay less all the time. I love it. Because now I accidentally go into the to give my mold, you know what I mean? And preserve them, and if you find a lot of boats in the engine times, they find them in the ocean, and they have uh olives still alive because cover yeah for thousands of years in the engine they find it in the water, this old ship that grow that goes from the in the ocean and they go down scuba divisions. They bring that big thing up, and it's like olives covered by oil, you know. That's a beautiful thing.

I love that. Yeah, we have maybe 30 miles from here into Mekula. There's there's some olive olive farms, yeah, olive orchards, it's very healthy.

Olive oil is like it represents the Holy Spirit too. Yes, the Holy Spirit is like an olive oil to us because we have a lot of healing anointing, the olive oil. A lot of people heal from cancer, heal from a lot of disease, a lot of skin problems. You can put the olive oil, and this time we anoint people to go to prophesy. What we do? We'll put the olive oil in the forehead, you know what I mean?

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. When you anoint, that's uh anoint them with oil, yeah. Exactly. And the Bible talks all the time about anointing your forehead and your seat with with the oil, and that was it's an amazing tool. So, Socrates, I I want to hear your story just fascinates me. It's you know, just like you were saying about me, I I have seldom met anybody who is so connected and and filled with the spirit like you, and your your joy shows it, you know.

I love it. I love God and I love you, brother. I meet you and I love your wife, Liz. Yes, you know, giving my love to her, and I talk to my wife from her from your family, you know. And when I come California, I should be in September there because we do a film festival in uh in the um beautiful uh Beverly Hills, Christian Film Festival, yes, to be there, part of that, and uh maybe I'd come down to see you. Oh, great. And you can come to Florida and see us in here. I would love to, yeah. We're in the clear water of the Gulf of America in the clear water, you know, and uh it's a beautiful place. A lot of good things going on in here from the Greek community, big Greek community in here. They're called Tarpen Springs. Florida is all Greek. Over 60,000 Greek families live around here. It's really very cool. And we have a lot of events here. We have nine Greek churches in the area, you know, and Florida is uh the Greeks come here for many years, for many centuries, because the Spanches, they used the sponge divers, you know. Okay, and if they if you look at the Bahamas, an island called Andros.

1905 they moved to Tarpa Springs. Wow, and um they have a very beautiful community. For me, I have my church in Clearwater, they're called Church from All Nations, uh-huh. They make disciples. That's I do. I train people to go out and and and love people. That's my calling. My my love.

I want to hear more about that. I think probably January or February, I'll be able to come out. Um, you know, when I went through my my challenge with my health, it messed up my whole business and all of that. So I'm I'm putting all that back together. Oh, yeah.

Okay. Lord Jesus, I pray for my beautiful brother, the great man of God. I'm so honored to meet him, Lord. The beautiful Joe, great name, Lord. Lot of energy, a lot of love, because joy to the Lord is our strength, and joy in Greek is mean happiness. I rebuke the spirit of infirmity on him and any words spoken against him from this time he's a little boy to today. I break any curses spoken to him and four generations back, and I release four generations blessings from the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I rebuke the spirit of infirmity, get out of him, and I release the spirit of God, the healing of God. And we say, Lord Jesus, by your stripes of what you've done on the cross, you beautiful son, Joy, is be healed from the top to the head to the bottom of the sole of his feet. Heal him. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Go through his body right now and heal him, Lord. Heal him, heal him, heal him, Lord. Yes, any chromosomes, any D the DNA renew now, he's getting stronger. Not only that, I release healing anointing to heal people. Heal if I pray for them, be healed.

I release healing anointing on you. You can pray for people to be healed. Yes. It's already happened anyway. You know, but you can go anywhere, you can go, you carry the anointing. They don't have to come only in your garden. You can go to the ocean, you go to the mountains, you go on the freeway, wherever you are, pray from them and people tend to be healed.

I love that. I will do it. I, you know, after we talked, you know, my wife was talking about how she gets sad and she has these, gets depressed. And when we it was either the same day or the next day, I don't remember, but we were shopping. We went to the grocery store, and she got stressed because we needed to get back and do something. And she started going, oh no, we gotta go, we gotta go. And I go, relax, we're okay, everything's fine. You know, we're not in a hurry. I don't like to be in a hurry because you don't make good choices when you're in a hurry. And and then she she saw something and she started getting sad. I said, you know, you you should think about that because I'm gonna I'm gonna cast that spirit out of you right here in the middle of the grocery store. And and and she did. She kept going a little bit, and I stopped right there and then. I says, In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast out the spirit. And and I I I welcomed the Holy Spirit to come and take it. And she sat there and then she started to smile. And she she was okay after that.

All that stuff is real, brother. That's good done to your wife is real and says, Be here. Yeah, because you have authority with the Holy Spirit in you to cast out any goofy spirit, any dark spirit, and fill them up with the Holy Spirit. That's a good thing you've done. There's a lot of people can cast them out and then fill them up with the light, and more seven more spirits come in. So you can leave an open door like that, yeah. Yes, and fill them up with the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah.

And it worked just like that. It was beautiful. I said, I said, well, I said, we're gonna make sure this thing stays gone. And and you know what? Since that time, she's been good. I I uh I look forward, you know, to her joy. And for 30 years we've been together, and for 30 years, it's always, you know, this and that, and the sadness and the the the fear and the all the things, you know, and and I'm always trying to carry her, you know, on my shoulders and they know it's okay, it's okay, it's okay.

And and now she's gonna walk now. You've done the right thing. You're the doctor now, yes. You have authority because the Holy Spirit in you give you all authority to do that. Yeah, you know, so good, I'm happy, and uh, and it's so easy, like a cancer. Say the name of Jesus, spirit of cancer left this body right now in Jesus' name. Holy Spirit come in. And and because you have the Holy Spirit in you, I give you a scripture to heal yourself now. In the Bible, Romans 8 11, if you're gonna write it down, say Romans 8.11, okay. 8.11. Say the same spirit from the dead, leaving you to heal your moral body to those who have the Holy Spirit. You know, it's really we write it down because God give us the authority if those who have the Holy Spirit of God to heal themselves. Because you can be the mountain, you can be alone, you know, you have nobody to pray for you, you pray for yourself. Romans 8, 11. You know, write it down. They have to have it, and everybody listen to your beautiful program, and they have the Holy Spirit, they can pray, they'll be healed. I've done it myself a few times going to the ambulance, the hospital, yeah because they have some heart problem. By the time I came to the door, the hospital got healed me.

I love that. Well, you know, just a couple months ago, I went to Japan and I got a scan on my whole body. They have a tool there that that can see cancer. Well, they don't even have it in America, but we have it there in Japan. I'm clean, it's all gone.

Yeah, Jesus says anything I done, you can do it too and more, because I've been next to the Father. People didn't understand Jesus is not in religion stuff, Jesus in love, Jesus in healing, Jesus in in prophecy, you know. And we're not doing that. We tend to churches tend to religion stuff because men made stuff, men made stuff. God is love, God is healing, God is deliverance, God is joy. And for us, we we're not we tend them to a business. Give me, give me my name is Jimmy. Church is a giving place to give things to people for God to love the whole, he's give his son to give me. And for us as a church, we have to give things to people. And if the people like to support you, there's a blessing, they'll be blessed. But we we have to stop to be a beggars, yes, you know. Gimme, give me my name is Jimmy. No, we have to give, give feeling to people, lay hands on the sick, be healed, prophesy, you know, do good things to people, you know, and that's a belief myself, the the Lord.

I tell people all the time, it's like when you help somebody, you get back more than you give. And I go, it's it's funny because people that give love to give. And if you give and you have an expectation of some kind of you know, it's gotta be given back in a certain way. No, it never works, you'll never be happy because it doesn't work. You just give it and walk away.

Yeah, and you say it's okay, yeah. And God planned to take care of you, God can take care of you, take care of me because we are givers. Jesus killed people and never said, Give me money. No way.

He went into the temple and he he was upset because these guys were all collecting money and and and all these tithes and all these things, and he's like, That's not what it's about. Boom! He knocked the table over when he was just a kid.

Absolutely, and and God provides our needs to me and you because we love him and we do whatever he's called us to do. Obedience is better from sacrifice. But uh, I I'm so happy you audience there, listen the scripture. And how how easy we can receive the Holy Spirit is so easy in the Bible say, for God so loved the world, he's giving his one and only son, whosoever believes in him never perish, but have everlasting life. For God not came to judge the world, but to save the world. And after he says, again, say if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart, Father God, resurrect him from the dead, you'll be saved. And ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up with love, joy, peace, and power to go out to do God's work. You know, all of us call to be a minister, all of us. You know, it's not a specific thing. God, those who have the spirit of God, they are the sons and daughters of God. The Holy Spirit makes us sons of God. This means all the heavens belong to you because you have the Spirit of God, you know, and He's created all these things for all of us. And people don't understand the tell them to religion stuff. No, tell them to love, tell them to joy, tell them to peace and to love one another. Say, you come in, I give you, says the Lord, love one another. If you love another, everybody knows you, my disciples, if you love one another. Yes, I'm loving you.

These always that's it, that's it. You know, people get caught up in religion. Like I was raised a Catholic, and oh, they have so many rules and all these little things you gotta do, this and that, and this and that. And I even as a kid, I was like, I don't know about all these rules, it doesn't make sense to me, you know. Like, and then you know, in in in like you just said, you know, the the the disciples are asking Jesus, you know, what's the greatest of the commandments? And and he said, I give you a new commandment. He says, Love God and love your neighbor as yourself, and that's it, just love, yeah, and that's it.

And Modern can say, New command I give you. This he's taking the ten uh commandments from the old testament and make it two to in the new testament. Yes, later he's given in the John 13, he's given the new command, say love one another, because he says everybody argue each other's and pray. And that's America. The Lord sent me to the uh Weston DC and I uh to promote the people to love one another. Yes, you know, and uh I want to see if I have it in here too, because that's the calling God gives us to all of us, not to make everybody to love each other's, you know, and we have to start doing it that and the idea of a church, people think you know, you gotta go to this big building, you gotta go to this cathedral, these things.

Okay, but my mother say prophesied to me and say, You'll be a minister of the gospel. I said, Mom, I've been so business. And I work in Hollywood with Mer Griffin Production, I work in the the TV show Das River, I work in a lot of different places, and I put a lot of productions together and I own my own theater.

52 years old, the Lord called me. Okay, but I hear his voice and I never understand is God. He's calling my engine named uh Socrates. Yeah, a few months later, with my mother named Socrates, and I don't understand me. But one Saturday morning, 10 o'clock in my patio in my house, he said, Socrates, and oh my god, and scary me. I said, Okay, what do you want for me? Say, I want you to be my my minister. I said, Lord, I'm a sinner. What do you want for me to do? Say, I do it through you. I said, okay, Lord, if you do it through me, I'm all use.

And uh he saw me from heaven the four angels of the four corners of the earth, and the number two angels aside Los Angeles, one is inside Madagascar in Africa, and one is outside Giblotor, and one other the number four is inside Israel between Israel and Cyprus. And he saw me a lot of beautiful things what's coming. He saw me the rapture, how he takes his church to heaven. And one time he sent me two angels singing aside my house from one week, and in the middle of the night, birds start sinking because the lights are coming from aside inside, and the neighbors can aggravate because the birds start sinking, because this time a light comes in, the birds are sinking. And it scared me. I said to my wife, I think the Lord come pick me up.

But the seventh day they came to my room, these two beautiful angels say, The Lord is coming. And the Lord came and his left hand my chest, his right hand my forehead, and he said, Socrates, I give you a ministry of healing with power and power. And I tried to talk to him, I my mouth speaking, but no sound came out. And from that time, I I have the blessing to pray from people to be healed in any sickness. We have over 70 people healed from cancer. I have the blessing to pray from resurrection people, people dead to raise up. And it's so easy to raise somebody from dead because you have the spirit of life in you, and the people dead have the spirit of death. You cast out the spirit of death, fill them up with the spirit of life, the belly bubbling, the eyes flickering, and life coming. It's easier to raise somebody from death from to heal a headache. And I have the blessing to pray from cats, frozen cat in the this and cat came to life, and I prayed from horses in Santiago. They tried to shoot them because they broke a leg. I said, Don't worry, we'll pray from healing. Yeah, yeah.

And um, I I see a lot of miracles, but the Lord said to me very clear, say, free I give to you, you free gift to them. Don't turn them to a business.

And uh that's I do. And I see people healed from any sickness. I see eyes come in, I see ear coming, I see liver, heart. I call a heart in in uh California, in um Newport, in a lady from Philippines needs new heart because we don't find a heart. They plan to really, she's planning to die. And I pray, God gave a new heart. I see angels, two angels carry heart from heaven. And if the Lord showed me is a big warehouse in heaven, it is I'm going to the gate on the left side, big whitehouse have a lot of parts. So we give me authority and I teach people to call parts from heaven. If you cannot heal your kidney, calling your kidney from heaven. God can give it to you. And I pray from liver, I pray from pancreas, and God is doing it. You know, he's healed a lot of people. But the secret is to to do it free. Yes, don't turn into a business. No, no.

And I cry one day from two hours, and I say, Lord, you say the same spirit of Jesus from the dead live in me, the resurrection power. I want the Lord to be healed me and heal. Two hours. I open my eyes and I can start see better from before.

Make me open, make me better from before. I can see little letters, I can see very far, I can see all these good things. You know, and uh that's the reason I teach now a lot of people, those who have this to receive the Holy Spirit, and because you have the Holy Spirit, you can pray to yourself and you'll be healed. And in the end of the book of Revelation, say the Spirit and the Bride say come. This means the Holy Spirit and you, the bride of Christ, say come. Whosoever thirsty, let me come to drink the water of life freely, free again. Or it's all about free. God is in a free business. He's like, Yes, give it, give it, come on, give it, give it love, give it joy, give it peace, give him feeling, give deliverance, give prophecy. And God bless you, take care of you. See, I don't take care of the lilies of the valley, I don't take care of the sparrows, I take care of you too. Right, right, right. Just take care of us. One time I don't have money because I'm I lost my house in my theater because I I really overspread myself. People start bringing me lamb in my house, my dog. Wow. Chickens bring me food there with not even us, we never call nobody.
